Notaries are required to undertake six hours of study each year with 1 CPE point awarded for each hour of study. Three of the six hours must be ‘accredited’ the professional regulator – The Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Our distance learning programmes can be ordered, paid for and instantly downloaded online.
Our small-group seminars facilitate group conversation – learn and benefit from the experiences of other notaries
Reserve seminar places online or access the tradition order form here.
We have been delivering accredited programmes since compulsory CPE was first introduced. Many notaries have commented that our seminar are the best they have ever attended.
Law Consultancy Services offers 3 main course types:
There are under 800 notaries public operating in England and Wales, most are independent, working on their own, often without business support. Having someone knowledgeable to turn to from time-to-time can be very reassuring. Perhaps a coach.
A coach is someone who provides guidance on day-to-day difficulties. Coaching is often short-term, delivered within 10 - or 15-minute conversations. When difficulties arise and answers are sought, the coach will ask (the right) questions, giving the coachee time to reflect.
Ambitious notaries can benefit from the services of a management consultant. Management consultants focus on people (clients and influencers) and the less quantifiable parts of the business (for example, vision, strategic objectives, forward planning, expansion, and growth).
We, at LCS, have just the expertise and experience you need.
Our services start with a no-cost exploratory telephone or Zoom conversation. This is followed with a chargeable, no-obligation-to-proceed, initial face-to-face meeting to establish how we can help and what outcomes are desired.
As we near the end of the CPE year, we want to draw our attention to our:
FLAGSHIP EVENT: Legalisation Special
Everything you need to know about getting documents legalised – E-Legalisation, Electronic Signatures – the theory, practice and the pitfalls.
The Learning Objectives for this seminar are for notaries to be aware of new regulations and methods of working; including how to use the new, online electronic legalisation of documents system.
Every year we present a seminar either in an unusual venue or we arrange an afternoon visit to spaces normally not accessible to the general public. This year we are visiting the sumptuous London HQ of the FCDO Office where, if the Foreign Secretary is out for the day, we can step inside his office – the largest of government ministers’ rooms – and gaze at the front door of Number 10!
We have been fortunate enough to persuade the Digital and Change Manager at the FCDO to present a ‘live’, online-via-Zoom demonstration with a question-and-answer session. Our FCDO presenter, Danial, will share his screen with us physically walk through the process of just how the e-apostille system will operate.
More information to come very soon – contact us if you need to know more right now.
Use the order form below if you prefer to not order online.

THEN: The MyNotary Network was established in 2014 to help the public find Notaries across England and Wales willing and able to conduct, the then compulsory, ‘English Test. This Test – proof of language skills – was required to obtain British Citizenship. We provided Notaries with a template Test and guidance as to how to administer it. At the time, not many notaries had websites, so we set up an online directory listing those notaries willing and able to conduct the Yest. Notaries had the monopoly for the Test for only one year… so we added additional benefits…
NOW: …so we added additional benefits including individual member websites. As the MyNotary directory website is to be updated, we are actively seeking new members.
For smaller, low turnover firms, we offer a great, taking-instructions-online—system: this includes a Master Protocol Register and document management system. For more active notaries, we provide consultancy (HR recruitment, training (efficiency values, culture) and retention) as well as strategies for growth.
We still assist notaries to be found and chosen by potential clients, in many more ways…
